Why one UK base, not seven regional offices

Larger consultancies emphasise their multi-office networks. We take the opposite position deliberately:

  • One point of accountability. John Watson personally leads every engagement and is the named advisor responsible for the work — whether the project runs end-to-end in Aberdeen or pulls in trusted specialist associates for specific technical or geographic depth.
  • No regional commission incentives. Multi-office firms have to feed each location, which can shape what gets recommended. A single-base structure removes those incentives entirely.
  • No equipment-vendor conflicts. We don’t earn commissions from equipment suppliers, ingredient houses or certifying bodies. Recommendations reflect the project’s commercial reality, not someone else’s sales target.
  • Lower overhead, sharper pricing. No rent on seven properties means day rates reflect the work, not the office portfolio.
  • Faster decisions. A founder-owner-operator structure means yes/no answers within hours, not weeks of internal committee review.
  • Travel where it matters. We go to your site, anywhere in the world the project requires. We don’t dispatch the nearest regional office.

The trade-off: we are not the right firm for a 200-person, $500m greenfield programme that needs an army of in-house engineers. For everything below that scale — due diligence, factory design, process optimisation, training, technical advisory, investment strategy — this model delivers more value per consulting pound spent.
